looking into these machines further, it appears they are direct drive. you will need to check the couplings as they are likely to be damaged. try this link for details

if it was overloaded and tried to spin, its possible the motor windings or the capacitor have been damaged. if you have the ability to test, then find out if there is a 240v supply to the motor. if there is then the motor needs replacing.
