i have a new washing machine being delivered tomorrow and was asked to disconnect it how do i do that and do i have to turn the water off

Pull out machine
Remove waste pipe - be prepared for a cupful of foul water
Follow water inlet hoses and identify little plastic tap handles
Turn tap handles off
Unscrew water connectors (may need a cloth for better grip)
