why are two of my halogen spotlights not working?

I have some halogen spotlights on a dimmer switch in my kitchen. When i turn the lights on the lights come up except from two bulbs. I have replaced the bulbs on a number of occasions and still have no luck. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong and how to go about fixing this?

Thanks

If they are low voltage (12v) then they will have transformers (probably tucked up in the ceiling void) these do fail from time to time but are not expensive or difficult to replace. If they are mains voltage (240v) then you're probably looking at a wiring fault / poor connection.
