How can I adapt my 2 lamps -model: 10809000100 120V Tizio Micro, Artemide?

I brought to London a pair of Tizio micro lamps from the USA, and they need to be rewired for use in the UK. I have tried an adaptor with my other U.S. lamps and they have exploded as soon as they are lit, so I don't want to risk short circuiting these wonderful lamps.
Is there an Electrician in London West end near King's Rd who could do this work for me?

You can't short circuit a lamp. A short circuit is a circuit with no load.

Try yellow pages for an electrician - you need a step down transformer to convert 240V into 120V.

The Wattage rating of the transformer should match or exceed the Wattage rating of your two lamps

Amazon sell a 100W unit for £21 - a cheaper solution...
