My Drayton digistat RF2 wireless system not working ?

I fitted new batteries to the 'remote' system and it was working on and off - it isnt working at all now and I am turning the heating on manually from the boiler system. Before I go and purchase another system can you advise how we could fix please - Im not sure if the remote is 'not talking to the other unit fitted to the boiler'.

Foil on battery ends,, then re-commissioned in order to re-sync transmitter and receiver- it worked ! Had tried everything and as on verge of calling in contractor!

Top tip. My control also showed the display and the flame symbol, so appeared to be working, but red light at receiver. Dismantled plastic housing for thermostat and discovered evidence of a battery leak at the "far end" that's hard to see without dismantling. bent all connectors back in to tighten up contacts, cleaned them up, and hey presto.

I have a Drayton digistat RF2 wireless system with my Keston C36 Combi domestic boiler. Can I replace it with a Dayton digistat RF 3 room thermostat?

I just had a new boiler fitted and I already had wireless thermostat working before. Now if I try to change the time as it seems to have lost 20 minutes it won't allow me to go into the clock mode with just the time but the temperature comes up and when I press the + it rises. I need to get the time to flash to be able to change it. Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi,

I have moved into a property which uses the drayton rf2 wireless system. Is there a way u can just turn the heating on and off when required instead of using the timer?? Our heating comes on at random times of day/night even though it isn't set to come out..

Excellent! I had to use a combination of two of the suggestions on here, being foil and Allen's answer (at the bottom) and, as if by magic, the unit is working perfectly again. No more having to get up at 6am to turn the heating on manually! Many thanks.

Allen's answer at the foot of this thread was spot on.
I've noticed that the batteries do not sit snuggly in their compartments - they rattle about - so the electrical connections to the internal circuitry is sometimes a bit flaky (e.g. a dim display or a broken connection to the wireless receiver). To get a tight connection:
- take the batteries out
- get some aluminium foil and fold it to fit into the bottom of battery compartment (on top of, and across the width of the little metal plate connector that the batteries normally touch).
- reinsert the batteries
- still loose? make the aluminium wedge a bit thicker
This is also a good solution if your bottom connector plate has been affected by leaking batteries. (Corroded metal is a poor electrical conductor.)
I use this technique in the kids' toys' battery compartments as well when they haven't touched them for ages and the batteries have leaked. Saved me a fortune when a Lego Robotics control unit when snafu.

hi after trying various things for some time to
get the heating to work i cleaned the terminals
in the rf2 sender unit as was suggested as i noticed the batteries had leaked then i followed allens reset instructions and it worked

the batteries in one of the drawers had leaked a bit. I'd cleaned out the mess straight away but wondered if I could do more. Sanded it down and it 'learned' 1st time. Success!

Have tried all that has been suggested but no luck. Red light is on premanently. Remote has the ''flame on'' symbol but the boiler is not firing up. Hot water is fine but the boiler will not fire up. Is there a manual control on the Baxi 105HE?

Thanks so much for suggesting sanding down the contacts! Had the exact same problem, but following the battery replacement routine just didn't work, so when I saw someone had mentioned the contacts being grubby, I check and sure enough there was some corrosion there. Sanded it down, and when I popped the batteries in it worked straight away! Hooray! This had been driving me nuts!

Hi all.

Please can you help with some advice. I have a Drayton Digistat RF1 wireless thermostat on my landing, not too far from the boiler. I also have the Drayton Digistat SCR (receiver) connected to the boiler. I normally switch my heating on with the thermostat but intermittently I have recently noticed that when I do turn it on using the wireless thermostat, it is not always sending the signal to the receiver. I have to try it a couple of times before it works. Or worse case I go on power off the receiver and switch it back on before it starts working. Any ideas?

Just to say thanks for the tips. Was having all sorts of problems with a constant alarm on the receiver. Tried new batteries then lost the diplay on the transmitter/thermostat. Cleaned the terminals and got the dispaly back. Then used the tip to hit the one button on the receiver to reset the alarm (NB this is different advice than that give by drayton) and hey presto it worked.

Changed my batteries after cleaning out the thermostat box and the signal seems to be getting picked up at the other and when i turn the temp up as the green 'heating on' light turns on but the boiler doesn't do anything. any ideas?

Seriously, give this a go. These contacts get muddy over time, and leaky batteries don't help.

This was doing my head in for two days! Nothing seemed to work although the Corgi guy who fitted it gave the same instructions as Allen.

I had the same problem with my Drayton digistat RF2 wireless system as Tony, 2009, i.e. the red alarm light was permenantly on.
I couldn't figure out how on earth to get the system working but Allen 2009's routine did the trick.

When I had to renew the batteries in the wireless handset i removed the batteries from both drawers.
Take the unit to the boiler so that you are in close proximity to the boiler.
Press the bottom button on the reciever by the boiler (learn mode 1) and the red light will go out.
Replace the batteries in RHS drawer and then LHS drawer.
While close to boiler reset time setting and increase temp to turn heating on, green light should flash and boiler will fire.
Return room controller to original position on wall etc.

the low battery warning light is continuously flashing on the right hand side of the wall sender. I have changed the batteries numerous times but it still keeps flahing. Any ideas what the problem could be

I set up thermostat on the wall to 21. After a couple of hours it goes down to 7. Does any one know why this happens?

Remove all four AA batteries from the radio room stat.

On the box connected to the boiler..
Hold down the bottom button..then
Hold down both buttons together
The red light should flash and go out
Release both buttons
Slide the new batteries into the RHS drawer (Signal)
Slide the batteries into the LHS drawer ( Display)

The red light on the boiler control should flash and go out after about 7 seconds
Any problems contact 0845 130 7722
