Help I have an error message I don't know how to overcome!?

The following error message appears when I amtrying to install the the software for a Hewlett Packard Deskjet F2280 all-in-one printer:-
The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personal for assistance.
Can anyone help me to correct this?

Thanks Nigel. I did as you advised and updated windows. Unfortunately i still cannot install my new printer. It must be something in the settings of my computer but I don't know what??? Any ideas?

Hi Sharon,

Sounds like you need the latest Windows Installer program to be installed. Click on the link below and select the WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
which is size 2.5mb. Click on the Download button at the side of this and save it to your computer. Once it has downloaded, double-click it to install it. Good luck!
