my laptop will not all of a sudden connect wirelessly to the net , it will via a cable no problem.
i noticed that my sky number which was SKY20906 changed to SKY20908 and ever since that it wont connect wirelessly.
nobody has changed any settings in the laptop..and i borrowed my mates laptop and connected to my connection and it worked great.
so im assuming it has to be the laptop settings but as i said i have not touched anything..but why has my sky number changed on it's own.
im using vista.
any help greatly appriciated.

Perhaps a long-shot, considering the numbers are so similar, but is there a chance a neighbour has recently got Sky and your laptop is accidentally trying to connect to their wireless signal?

Try re-searching for wireless access points:

Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center > Connect to a Network

You may find your Sky number in the list.
