How to fix my Hoover WS130 washing machine?

The drum in my Hoover WS130 is not rotating at any part of any cycle (ie I think it's the motor). The machine fills, empties etc. OK (I have removed considerable amounts of limescale and sludge from the drain pipes and pumps) but at no point in the whole rotation of the programmer does the motor attempt to turn. I have tried giving the drum a spin to see if it's the motor start capacitor but this has no effect.

I had the same problem. It was the motor brushes were worn. Replaced them and is now fine.
