How can I desludge my central heating system?

We have a Baxi boiler which had a new pump some years ago, if the upstairs rads are only on the downstairs ones are hot and vice versa, if they're both on the downstairs ones are luke warm.
Suzanne Lowe. Baxi and quite old now, we had a new pump some years ago., December 2005
to be honest it sounds more like your system needs balancing not desludging, sentinal x400 is the sludge remover but if you are not familiar with how to drain and refill the system properly then don't do it,the desludger should only stay in the system for 4 weeks max as it is corrosive, also i dont think its very good.the only way to do it properly is to get the system power flushed professionally or remove the rads one by one and hose them through.but like i say it sounds more like a balancing problem,is it a sytem boiler or combi your running??

hello
our plumber put some descaling fluid in the downstairs rad in our house a few weeks ago, cant remember what it was called, maybe a specialist plumbing supplies will know the stuff. It was about a litre and he unscrewed where we vent the rad and syphoned it in using a syringe, we have a baxi and pump was renewed earlier this year, but was very noisy and sounds of water gurgling all the time, anyway after the descaling didnt vent for 2 or 3 days as advised now working a treat and soooo quiet
