Can I replace Toshba Equium A100 80 GB Hard Drive with a more powerful one?

Can I replace Toshba Equium A100 80 GB Hard Drive with a more powerful one? If so, would I need a more powerful cooler and what other HD might be best? Would another make than the standard one as fitted just plug in ok?

yes.. just unscrew the cover plate underneath and slot in a new 2.5 inch drive after removing the old one, check if it sata or pata before u buy a new one.. and dont expect the system restore cd/dvd to work (changing the disk may register as not the oem hardware), so u may need to create a disk image of your old drive and restore that.
