Equipement & Materials
Eyeshields,
Gloves,
Mains Drill,
Wire brush for drill cup type or flat,
Narrow firm blade wall paper scraper/filling knife
old 1/2" wood chisel.
Mallet or small hammer.
Paint brush,
White spirit.
Galvanized paint
putty for metal windows
Putty knife.
Glass 1/8th to 3/16 inch less all round to size of frame rebate.

Chip out old putty using the 1/2" chisel.
Clean up and de-rust the rebate and anywhere surrounding, get rid of rust.
Paint with galvanized paint apply the putty against the 'rise' of the glazing rebate allowing enough for the glass to be held in place then push in the pane of glass then apply more putty if required and form the beading by running the putty knife along rebate keeping knife against the glass. To stop 'Pull' on the putty by the knife wet the knife. Practice but my bet is you will do better than me.
Hope this helps.
