I've taken off the face plate from my Peavey Fury Bass, and am currently looking at the pick up. The main line is still connected but there is a small wire coming from the bottom knob (I believe it's the tone knob) Which looks as those it should be connecting to the pickup. Does this need to be soldered back to the pick up? if so how?

I'm assuming the pickup to be the culprit as I can't get any sound out of the amp (From the bass that is)
