armoured cable ?

ive just had a garage built in my garden and need to know what cable is needed to go from the house .it is about 150 ft down the garden from the fuse box and i want to use 200 amp welder and a 3hp compressor.+plus 6 strip lights ect.i have been told 2.5 mm armoured is ok for up to 30amp is this enough

4D4A is the table in BS7671 which refers to SWA cable.

i am fixing the cable to the garden wall and running it down to the garage.what is 4d4a.the cable ive been given is 4 core 2.5mm armoured.

As per table 4D4A it can handle 29A, assuming you're burying it directly in the ground, so you would be restricted to 25A.
Given that you're planning to run a lighting circuit from the same cable, volt drop constraints would restrict you to 8.3A.

Remember this would be notifiable to building control and must be carried out by a part P registered company.
