These are renowned for the pilot getting dirtyI bet its yellowy in colour, but they are also very tricky to do as if you attempt to take the 12 or so seperate burners out and get them in wrong they can fall over like a pack of dominos. To get at the pilot tube, you do have to get the burners out.Usually fitted in the pilot injector is a gauze which gets grit in it.Try and take the injector out completely and blow thro it,the pilot tube just lifts up out of the injector. Then once clean fit everything back together.DONT attempt to relight the pilot before you have the burners back in place as many times i have nearly blown my head off as someone in the house has turned a hot tap on just as ive got the pilot lit.You can imagine with no burners in what could happen. If you can see from the side you should see a much bluer pilot warming the thermocouple.
