can only ring free numbers on phone?

Having a problem with bt,i can only dial out free numbers on my phone.Have checked my phone with a neighbour and it works fine. When i dial any other number the line goes dead.i have no call bar etc.I looked inside the master socket which has a tester plug beind the facia.I plug my phone into this,i still get a dialing tone but still cannot dial out !! Bt have checked the line and say there is no fault. There are wires on my master socket that dont seem to be joined anywhere.People can still ring me.Any help appreciated

Ignore the extra wires on your Master Socket. (You only need two of the four to work.)

I am afraid that you need to call BT again and be FIRM. If it is actually a Line Fault, BT, in line with other service providers, actually have to pay for service by Openreach and so they do not like to call them out.
