Zanussi WJD1457W ?

We have the above mentioned machine. The problem seems to be that the drum won't rotate. Water goes in fine but no actual wash cycle. Starts to fill up ok then just seems to stop. Timer won't go down. Tried draining it and then putting it into drying mode. Sometimes the motor on the dryer kicks in, but mainly it refuses to operate.
Help please. Tried everything i can upto now and it's getting on my .......!!!

Eventually got mine repaired by ServiceMaster. Technician diagnosed and replaced dead motor though it took them nearly 2 weeks. On inspection I thought brushes were well worn but appeared to have some life left in them , so I would suggest an amateur repairer should look at these first. However the commutator in mine appeared damaged too.

Exactly same problem occurred with mine yesterday.
Lets in water. Goes into infinite pause. If I move to another phase of program it will not restart from flashing pause light. Only way to restart is to reboot and start from another phase like "empty"....so at least I was able to retrieve a drum full of wet washing! Fortunately on a service contract so will keep you all posted ....4 day response time though.

I have found a faut code but am not sure what it is - E52.

Unfortunately because it has electronic controls it is likely to be one of many things but I would start by checking the heater and the pressure switch in that order.

remove the brushes from the motor and check the length.if they are less than 10mm long change them
