How can I fix a spin fault electrolux 1200a washing machine?

The machine will wash but not go into spin mode, it pumps water out of the drum but does not spin, is this a fault with the motor?

could be one of two problems, new brushes on motor or new spin module.
NEVER ATTEMPT TO WORK ON A W/M WITH IT PLUGGED IN TO THE MAINS.
