Can i remove the fire front of my back boiler and still use the boiler?

I have a baxi bermuda back boiler and fire unit in my living room. Is it ok for me to have the fire removed completely and still have the back boiler functioning safely?

no you cannot use the boiler it is a combined flue system and you'll all probably die.......unbelivable

I admit that a back boiler isnt supposed to function without the fire connected, but the question was will it be safe to use,and the answer to that is yes as long as ventilation is still available and easy access can be gained for maintenance. One has to ask why you would want to remove the fire.If the reason is to make your living room into say a bedroom then that is a DEFINITE no no as Conventionally flued boilers are not allowed in sleeping quarters and it becomes an immediately dangerous situation so dont go there.

NO you can not use the back boiler without the fire front fitted as it was not designed to be used like that

You would need to make sure the fire gas supply was capped off correctly but more importantly not block off access for air.Thats why somewhere in your room you should have a great whacking airvent fitted in the wall. The back boiler has its own flue that goes up the chimney so the flueing side of it isnt a problem. You would still need easy access for both repair and servicing though.
