how can i fix my phone line?

my external phone line has been cut during some recent building work i joined the wire's back together so i could use the phone obviously this is just a temp solution can i mend this myself and how or do i need a b.t engineer.

No you don't need to call BT. Replace it yourself with an extension cable or leave it taped up, if it works fine then leave it. BT will charge you £160.00 the bunch of thieves

No you cannot mend it yourself. You need to call BT. (You are not really supposed to touch that cable.)

Should BT bill you (which they are perfectly entitled to do) you will need to recover the cash from the builder who in turn will get it from his Insurance.
