My panasonic microcassette recorder RN-305 has suddenly stopped working Will not respond to either direct or alternate power. What might be the cause?.

If the unit has a dc power input socket,(where you connect a mains adaptor)it might be the connections on this socket thats broken on the circuit board.Both the battery & external power are routed through this socket.Any broken connections here will prevent the unit from powering up.Hope this helps
