What is wrong with my Polaroid?

I have a Polaroid TLX-04240B. I turned on my TV one day and I heard a sizzling noise and only half of the screen lit up. After about 30 seconds the screen just shut off. I did the "flashlight test" and you can see the picture in the light. I took the TV apart and found that the wire going into the PC Board (200-000-IP0S250-S1DH) on the side that wasn’t lighting up had melted and made a burn mark on the metal. I put some electrical tape on it and put it all back together. It worked for about 30 minutes then melted the tape. Any Ideas why this is happening?
