i need help replacing upvc door panel for a cat flap!?

Having read the answers on here to other queries i removed the rubber seal from the inside of my door only to find the panel comes out the from the ouside there is a small seal but i am not sure if this can be removed along with the upvc angled strips holding the panel in? any help would be much appreciated.

Hi lisa,why dont you phone a double glazing repair engineer to do it for you,at least you know it will be done right and door wont get damaged,have a look for some in your area and get a few quotes,you should only pay about £50 call-out if you already have the cat flap and panel.hope this helps

I have just moved into a house which has a HUGE dog flap in the back door. It is big enough for a person to get through, as my daughter has proved! I would like to replace the bottom panel and have a small cat flap into it. I have read loads of advice from various places about removing the panel which talks of simply putting a small 'scraper' or similar implement between the panel and the door and easing off the beading. However, the beading does not want to come off and I wonder if there are 2 different types of door beading, easily removed and hard to remove (therefore needing a specialist?) Any help?

yes they can, they are the beads that hold the panel in. use a thin scraper to remove them. after fitting cat flap in the panel replace it and using a rubber mallet replace the beads. then from the inside push the rubber gasket back in
