Is there any way to disable the cover safety switch?

The lever safety switch is balky and sometimes disable the whole unit.

I don't know any windows or doors that have a "lever safety switch".

in any event safety switches are there for a purpose. You may not hold your continued health and well-being dear but it may not be you that suffer. It could be someone valuable.

There is a reason the safety switch is baulky. FIX THAT.
