I've the same problem and the same thermostat mechanism within my heater too but I don't really understand "exactly" what I should push to hear the click!
Is it the silver metal flap that promonates from just above the white piece (which is above the red plastic)?

I did push this and anything else I could find but did not notice any significant clicking sound!

Is a picture of the reset. With the power off, remove the case, 2 screws (use bolt adapter if no room for screw driver). Unhook case and lift off.

The reset switch is located just after the two blue marks on the image (just after the plastic casing if you can't see the image).

Simply press that away from you, towards the wall quite hard (make sure the power is off first). To test, turn the power back on and twist the input dial all the way off and then all the way on. You will see it spark.

Turn the power back off, hook the case back on at the top, align the two studs on the sides, press the bottom in and replace the two screws underneath. Voila!

It took me 2 hrs to find and do this, so I hope it works for your heater too!

I just did this succesfully yesterday. First make sure electricity supply to heater is turned off, then remove the front cover (two screws underneath storage heater) and look directly beneath the thermostat controls and you will see a small black plate with a tiny white switch in the centre. If you press this switch and it clicks then you have reset it. Good luck.

If you get an answer to this, please let me know as i have a similar problem.
I've read that there might be a thermal cut out within the unit, but not sure if it's a push button or what.
I've read that it has a bi-metal cut out, but not really sure how to re-set those.

Any one any ideas?
