The door handle and lock on this type of door over the last fortnight has become harder to move and lock until it refused to lock properly last night, when you lift the handle fully upwards to get all the locks to click together within the frame the key in the lock would not turn, so to get the door to close and lock I have had to take the top and bottom hook mechanisms out.

I am having the same problem as you with my back door. It has become harder over the last few weeks to get the door locked once the handle has been pushed up. Last night it locked and now I can not get it open. The key only turns a little way ( both directions )but the handle will not budge!!! My poor dog is so confused as I am having to take her out the front door to the garden!!!

Do you suggest I get my partner to do what you have done? Did it fix your problem?
