Why isn't Eastman Kodak taking responsibility for these defected cameras?

Is there some kind of way we can get Eastman Kodak company to be held responsible for selling defective cameras. I paid $123.00 for my Easy share digital CX6200 camera, it worked once and when I change the batteries the thing stop working. I can't get it to turn on at all. Why should I have to pay for a camera to get fixed after paying $123.00 for it. Kodak is selling a defective product and it's not RIGHT!

The law in the UK may be different to that in S Carolina but here the warranty responsibility on a product is owned not by the manufacturer but by the vendor.

If the warranty is still valid check with the people who sold it to you. You will need to show proof of purchase.

A manufacturer will typically not get involved with individual cases unless it's a product safety issue - although some manufacturers may talk to the public it's not always a regular thing.

For instance if you buy a new car and it breaks down you contact the dealer who sold it not the people who made it. The dealer will claim against the manufacturer.
