Lost icons?

I am running Windows XP and have lost all the icons on all user accounts. This has happened before but was rectified by downloading Malwarebytes. This time it will not work though. Can access some things with Windows Task Manager.

right click on desktop and click arrange icons by and then click show desktop items. should do the trick
