polishing a coo coo clock?

I see where alot of coo coo clocks say they have been polished. What does that mean, with what?

Hi Barabara,I use a good liquid french polish that you can buy in a hardware store or antique furniture shop.To get the dust and ground in dirt off just use a weak solution of mild dishwashing detergent and wring out well as you dont want to raise the wood.Rinse it off with a well wrung out sponge.Let the clock dry naturally and polish...Jan
