Set Strike?

Thestrike on my long case clock is out of phase with the time. How do I set It?
Sybil, April 2009
Sybil, it would have helped to know how old your clock is but here is the easiest way to reset it. If the hour hand is loose, move it to the hour that it is striking and push back on it toward the face to tighten it up. If it is tight, you will have to remove the minute hand first, pull while twisting on the hour hand to loosen it. If this is a newer clock you will only have to do this once. If it is an older clock with a strike wheel, you should look at other posts here where I explain what you must do.
