Thomson Digital Freeview Recorder DTI6300-16 won't restart?

I recorded a programme which claimed to last 29 hours however once i had watched it my recorder froze and now when i tried to switch it off to reset it it is just flashing its orange light on the front of the box and will not restart. How can i get my box to restart?
Kirsty Ogilvie, April 2009
1. disconnect the power from the box
2. reconnect the power to the box
3. at the same time as you reconnect the power, press the front-panel standby button repeatedly
N.B. the amber light will stop flashing and appear 'steady' quickly after this
4. as soon as the amber light goes steady, press the following sequence of front-panel buttons in brisk succession:

Up, Down, Left, Right.

This invokes a BIOS level HDD re-format and has - as I say - always worked for me. You still lose your content I'm afraid but it's a bit less bother than taking it apart. "

It seems that everyone has this problem.

Best to contact Watchdog.

Have tried to reboot after my DTI6300 crashed but to no avail. This problem occured on Sunday 19th,but can't get any tecnical info as Thomson don't have a link. Might be possible via Top up TV??

I have the same problem which occured Sunday evening - the orange light is flashing and I cannot do anything about it. I cannot find any address to contact Thomson about this - does anyone have an address?

Apparently , if this happened over the weekend, it is likely to be a Thomson update that has crashed machines.

See other related threads at bottom of screen.

I've written to BBC Watchdog today - as my box did the same thing last night (Sunday 19 April 2009).

Am fuming - for a company to crash its own digi-boxes is totally ridiculous !
