Flu for a Potterton Prima F?

The inside of my flu on my boiler is corroded making it unsafe to use. I have been quoted £80 for a replacement flu but it looks as if it is just an aluminium pipe inside that needs replaced. Does anyone know if I need the whole flue kit or if the engineer is just trying to charge me for the whole thing when it will cost very little (ie only a new pipe) to be repaired?

Hi, i have the similar boiler, Potterton Prima F 100 and i have recently built a side extension and not replaced or moved this unit.

Now the flue used to be direclty outside in the the fresh London air, however now that the extention has taken the place of the fresh air, the building is now having to reroute the flue through a channel and finally out of the roof.

I have read with interest that the flue should be bs5440 part 1, certified etc., however, is there a standard kit i can purchase to meet the necessary regulations?

Also, getting a certifed corgi registered engineer around, what should i be looking to pay for this?

Thanks for the help here ...

they do a replacement flue kit for this boiler you need to know what model prima it is. About £40 for this so 80 for the job is good

you are very lucky that you have a good engineer with enough knowledge and skill to do the job for £80 its his responsability at the end to make sure flue passes and is in line with bs5440 part 1
