HI THIS WAS MY PARENTS AND THEY'VE LOST THE INSTRUCTION BOOK. PLUG IT IN IN MY HOUSE AND THERE IS A SHADOW ACROSS THE SCREEN WHICH IS RED IN COLOUR AND THE PICTURE ISN'T VERY SHARP. tHANKS

This is a rear projection TV.

It's most likely moving the TV has disturbed the convergence. There is a customer adjustment that you can access to reset it, using the remote control up/down/left/right arrow keys.

1) First press MENU to access the top menu.
2) Select PICTURE MENU.
3) Use DOWN arrow to highlight & access FEATURE MENU.
4) Use RIGHT arrow to select adjustment grid.
5) Use RED & BLUE buttons to select colour for adjusting.
6) Use Arrow keys to align the test pattern cross-hairs, until white cross has minimum colour shadow, ie. try and obtain a white cross.
7) Press EXIT to exit.
8) If the EDGES are also incorrect, select the corresponding number 1,2,3,4,6,7,8 or 9 and adjust for white cross as above.

My tv had a blue shadow on the right hand side, this was due to my nephew putting a magnet on the screen. We tried everything but it was still there, eventually we left the tv of the 24 hrs and hey presto it came back normal.Toshiba is a very good make, so try plugging out for 24 hrs it may re-adjust it self, and make sure there is nothing magnetic nearby. good luck.
