can i connect my eurovox max from its rs232 connection to my pc on a rj45 connection or does it have to be usb. do i need any sort of software, to transfer the latest software that i have downloaded to my pc, to my eurovox from my pc ?

you should be useing a 9 pin female to female nullcable , for this job , if you dont have the old rs 232 port on your pc , you can use a usb to 9 pin female com port, but you will need a driver for this lead , for the pc to know its there" thats the problem with them but you can download a driver for this lead , or try get a old pc with the port , as for the rj45 , is that not a phone port ? that wont work for this job , look up a usb to com port lead , at maplins ,,
