Replacing a hotpoint WD62P washer/drier condenser assembly?

Our Hotpoint WD62P washer/drier makes a lot of noise when spinning. Looking inside it appears that the condenser assembly has broken away at its attachment at the top of the drum and is banging against the drum during spins. The screw holes have broken off. Is it straightforward to replace the condenser assembly (i.e. DIY repair?)? Could it be removed completely and the machine used as a washer only?

Any advice would be most helpful. Thanks.

no u cant remove it and use just as a washer as will leak part is fairly easy to replace as need to remove for screws at top on heat chamber and three bolts at bottom disconnet hoses fit new one in place and rebuild not to hard
