Vertical Collapse?

Hello, I found a television that seems to be in perfect condition. Its a 32 inch panasonic CRT with a built in dvd player. When i first cut it on, the picture and sound were perfect for about a week. But then the video slowly left, leaving the appearence of a white line right through the center. I looked it up, to find that this is called vertical collapse. I even spoke with a TV repair man on the phone who confirmed it. He said that its relatively easy to repair with use of a good soldering iron. Can any one guide me through the steps one by one, or perhaps send me instructions via email or link? As of course you know, its been tough times.... and I did not have the luxury of paying for tv repair at this moment. So I want to give a go at it myself, and any willing help is so greatly appreciated. thanks again everybody
