my acer notebook computer when turned on goes to a blank screen it is an aspire one. can you help

I want my spellcheck changed from frech to english. Bought notebook in USA and am totally english. It will not let me change manuly..why?

If you have access to another computor Google for "easypeasy" for netbooks You can download it , it's free. Then load it onto a USB drive as the instructions on the web site,
Then boot to USB and install the new Linux operating system. Its free and it works, you will not need anti virus software and it includes Open Office which will open office 2007 files and work with them. Also Networking is easy.

Mine is also an Aspire One. It would be simple to fix if it only it came with a windows product key or a restore disk. Acer will make killing as the year warrenty runs out. Acer will fix it for free for the first year but you will have to pay shipping and handling charges with insurance I'm guessing maybe say $30 for shipping . After the year is up when it breaks again I'm guessing we will have to buy a product key for around $200. Now how dum was I to fall for this cheap laptop. there is suppose to be a windows key number under the laptop but I guess they found a legal way around it.What will be the final cost of my original $300 laptop. Well to answer your question it was 2 things causing mine to do that. My Bios had to be fixed and also the battery wire broke right at the computer so I had to buy a new charger too.
