How do I change the door cycle?

I replaced gears. Assembled and now with or without chain on, it only cycles about two feet up and down.It's a Craftsman. The stops are not engaging during the cycle either.

Garage doors are usually 6ft/ high. So a cycle of 2 ft is insufficient to raise the door fully up or down/
