i have just bought a new netbook and i just cant get the at key to work for my e mail addressit only will do comas

Your Keyboard is set to English (United States). If you go into control Panel double click the "Regional and Language Options icon, then click the Languages Tab, then the details button in the Text Services and input section you will be able to change your keyboard settings to "English (United Kingdom) from there.
Otherwise just use the shift key and "2" to get the at sign.

The keyboard is set up incorrectly. Take it back to where you bought it and get them to fix it.
