My Mitsubishi model CT - 25AV1B is faulty, picture fades, can i fix it?

TV picture has recently started to fade then disappear - giving TV a thump (very technical) or wiggling SCart leads sometimes revives picture but problem is getting worse

Model is CT - 25AV1B
