No display on Ferroli Optimax HE 31 C control panel why?

Please help. The control panel has some lines on it (power is on) but no symbols at all - no fault codes, no pictures of taps, nothing. The water pressure was low so I've refilled the boiler. I've bled the radiators - no air. I've tried resetting the boiler - no joy. I've tried switching it off then on again - no joy. The boiler is making a noise like someone snoring! That same rhthymical noise like a bubbling or vibrating noise, but on then off, on then off - just like a snorer!

The manual says something about opening the gas cock to purge the air upstream of the gas valve but I'm not sure which valve I'm supposed to be opening!

Help! I have a new baby and no hot water.

Liz - we have just had exactly the same problem on our He31c - engineer has diagnosed it as PCB failure - we have one on order but it is £132 +VAT (trade price) + fitting! So I would get onto your engineer or Ferroli agent/service if I were you and get it fixed under warranty. We didn't register the 5 year warranty in time on ours! (needs to be done within 1 month). Apparently, the "snoring" noise is the fan trying to start.

Got the plumber out from Ferroli - the 'snoring' noise is the diverter trying to switch between the hot water and the central heating. The fact that there were no symbols on the display, but just a few curved lines means the circuit board had gone and needed replacing. Took him 15 mins - all under the warranty.
