what model is your camera are you sure it is usb friendly and you are using a usb cable?

Forgive me but I'm really confused by your question.

If your camera has a USB port it will have a socket into which you plug a cable which, in turn, plugs into the USB port of a device also equipped with USB. If if doesn't have a USB port then you can't connect to a USB bus (please excuse tautology.) because it won't know how to 'talk' USB.

No idea what those wires are all about.
