How do i get my crate g40c-xl to stop cutting out?

my crate is cutting out, and my channel A, B keep switching in and out between each other. i pulled the two gray cords from the gold box and haven't had a problem since, i just wish i knew what i did to it.

You basically disconnected the reverb unit. My amp is the same way.... no more reverb for me.

you need to take the head apart and resolder the 4 jack-points back on the board takes 15 minutes, mostly taking all the knobs off.. thats it...

throw a fan behind it!

the G40C XL has a design flaw that causes two 50 ohm resistors to get too hot and that's why the amp goes silent intermittently. also, any amp tech will be able to replace the resistors, which should solve the problem.

Had same problem w/my crate and I bought a foot pedal 'cause every repair in town told me minimum 6mo wait. Pedal works just fine.

Depending on the age of the guitar, if condensation built up then rusted on an effects loop (if the amp has one) or perhaps on one of the connections, it might cause it to cut out. I had a Marshall that did this to me. Good luck.

The same thing happened to me. Mine just somehow fixed its self.... I think it is a flaw in the Amp. Maybe an electrical short?

Hope this kinda helped.
