When I turn the power on, either using the switch on the set or using the Direct TV receiver, it appears that the set is powering up, you hear a slight "pop" noise and then, with the screen black, the red standby light blinks.

supposedly the transformer has broken....i called ppl to fix it but they being cheap asians and are saying anything could be wrong even though
a. this happened before and it was the transformer and
b. my uncle just had the same problem..
asians from mainst nt are a epic phail
