repair on base of kitchen table?

Pine table base striped away from top. How to re-attach? Tried gluing, won't stick came loose again. Can we drill new holes without splitting base? Where to find new attachment bolts?

Consider using slotted angle brackets screwed underneath allowing for natural shrinkage in the table top...
