the table has a top where you eat, and four legs that support it. I'm am sorry that I don't know the venacular.

the table leg no longer fits the hole in the table. Is their a way to fix the dowel, for lack of a better term, or the hole where it fit. The pervious owens used a large amount of glue which eventually lead to my problem. The the table is four legged with no base

Closer ever closer - I wonder what "damaged" means...

If the timber is damaged and pieces of it are missing you might consider cutting out the affected part and glueing (gluing) in shaped blocks of wood to make good.

You might also consider going to a decent hardware store and buying adjuster feet that fit underneath into T Nuts and screw in and out to level things up. Like this one...

Glue or metal brackets - much will depend on what is actually wrong with the base of the table - is it a single central post with four feet? What means, "4 leaf post base"?
