How can I fix my table top?

Too much sanding caused damage to table top. How can I fix it? Thought about a varnish stain or paint. What would be the best approach?

Sand smooth using progressively finer paper

Dress with teak oil - let dry - dress again

If you don't like what you see consider varnish -

three coats of gloss sanding lightly between coats and a final coat of matt - Matt lets the grain of the wood show without highlighting any blemishes.
