When I turn on my rave-mp ARC 2.5 the screen says rave-mp and beneath that it has a face with x eyes and a frown then next to it there is a picture of a bug. I also can't seem to do anything with it. I tried resetting it but nothing happens. What can I do?

When I first got mine a few years ago I had the same thing happen. I was able to get in touch with Go-Video (Manufacturer) and they replaced the battery. It worked for about three years, now I get the same thing and am looking for a battery replacment. Rave doesn't answer and EVE Battery in China doesn't answer...

You have a dead hard drive.
Replacing the disk drive is only half of the problem. You have to restore the firmware to the drive from a working rave arc or the system will not recognize the drive. I have not yet been able to find a copy of the firmware posted on the internet for either version of the rave arc (2.5 or 5.0).
I have a player with the same display and it has a dead drive. I have read from many others that they have the same problem. The company that produced the player is out of business so there will be no help from there.

I've tried to hold down the reset button as mentioned above after i've used it once to turn the screen off, and have held it longer than 1 minute... and still the face with X's for eyes and the bug linger on? Please help?? Please email me with any more help you may have? Linohau2002@yahoo.com

use a paper clip, toothpick or other thin/small tool and insert into bottom little hole to RESET the player.

First turn the player on, insert (feel click, player screen turns off) and hold it for 30 seconds. Turn player on again and it should work. If not try it again, making sure you hold down reset button longer.

I have the same problem. It seems that I had remove the player from the PC before I clicked hardware removal from XP. Now the player did not respond to anything. The PC did not recognised the player.

Can anybody help?

seams like u got a virus on it from wht u have described stick it in ya pc and run a virus scan on the drive if that finds anything ur safe if it gets sorted
