Had the same problem on my Pyrox heater.
1/ Jumbled screen
2/F1-2 alarm
3/Heater wouldn't start
Purchased a new front (thermostat) control board for about $60.00 , fitted myself easily, it has just two plugs and mounts on about five plastic lugs on the cover. fixed the problem no worries.

Had the same fault error code f1 after a few minutes and then shut down. Here tis for all! Remove bottom plastic fan vent and then remove the thermal switch located in the middle of the fan outlet. Two wires connect either end. Solder together the two wires and insulate they are live! The fire will work correctly from then. Dont forget to disconnect the power before you repair the fault. Ps throw the thermal switch away! Cheers Kevin B Adelaide.
+ OK when fixed!

Vulcan Pyrox Heater problems.
1. jumbuled screen.
2. f1, f2, f3 on csreen.
3. wont start or stay on.
Solution to problem is to change the control panel as this tends to be the problem. Computers and heat dont MIX. I know this because it just happened to me and thats how they fixed it.
