I have a Amish heat surge X5C, I had trouble with lights not going off when I turned unit off, I took out the tip switch cause it looked a little burnt, And I have a built in unit, I bought a new circuit board and reset switch, the unit works good ,It shuts off after about ten minutes and the reset trips is hot and the wire coming from wall plug in to the reset is hot at the tip, I don't know why the reset gets hot with no tip switch anymore, And don't know if it is safe to hard wire without reset switch

Ask someone competent working with electricity to look at it. Wiring and switches should not be getting hot.
