my fridge is freezeing up does it need a new thremostate/?

I have a fridge freezer and my fridge has started to freeze up it seems to be working okay but, do i need a thremostate or do I buy a new fridgefreezer?its a fridgemaster.Dont know model no. but it's 9yrs old

The thermostate needs to be replaced. Thermostate is not that expensive +/- 200 Rand
